Income Tax Certificate For Ration Card – TNEPDS

Income tax certificate is mandatory for every Indian Citizen in order to apply for ration card it is mandatory, as your card depends on total annual income.

If an Applicant’s annual income is less than the Rs.11,000/- per annum then an Income Tax Certificate is required for Ration Card application procedure. Because the applicant’s annual income less than Rs.11,000/- is provided with AAY ration card or Antyodaya Anna Yojana Ration card.

Similarly, if the Applicant’s annual income is less than Rs.1,00,000/- per annum then he/she is considered as the Below Poverty Line and will be given a BPL Ration card when applied for a Ration card.

How to Get An Income Tax Certificate

The Income Tax certificate is required for so many purposes other than getting a new ration card. For citizens who come under the APL or Above Poverty Line category don’t need an Income Tax certificate as they are issued white cards whatsoever. For those white cards, there are no additional benefits other than using it as a Proof Document.

  • Receiving financial assistance from various backward class corporations of Government.
  • Entitlement to get Government plots of land/flats.
  • Getting admission in educational institutions from reserved meant for that class.
  • Getting various social benefits and schemes introduced by the government.

The above are the additional benefits of getting an Income Tax certificate other than getting a new ration card.

  • Collect the application form from the Collector’s office of your District.
  • Those certificates are issued between 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
  • Fill in the details required in the Application form as shown in the below image.

Attach all the relevant documents such as Bonafide Certificate of Son/Daughter, Parent Income Certificate, Income Tax return Copy, Residence Proof and Affidavit in Prescribed format. These are to be attached to the application form and should be submitted.

This application form and documents are submitted between 10:30 AM to 01:00 PM in your district’s collector office. This Income tax Certificate for Ration card will be issued normally within 15 days after the submission of the documents.

All documents should be attached to the Application forms that should be signed by the applicant. In case the applicant is a minor, it should be signed by the Guardian. Applicants should produce all original documents at the time of submission of Documents.

Note:- Attestation of the Documents to be done by the Special Executive Officer or Officers Only before submitting those along with the Application form.

How To Get A Ration Card

Before you apply for a new one, you must make sure under which category you will be given a Ration card. Because for APL, application procedure as there are no benefits to avail with the help of APL card – This are the four different types of Ration card.

Unlike APL, BPL and AAY are hard to apply as they are needed some documents to get those. So many documents like Income Tax Certificate also should be submitted along with the Ration card application form.

  • Fill up the ration card application form with the correct details.
  • Attach the relevant documents along with the Income-tax certificate.
  • Either submit those application forms online or offline.

Income tax certificates are important to submit for citizens who are Labourers, workers, old age people etc. According to the Income Tax Certificate, you are provided with the AAY or the BPL.

After applying for the Ration card your application will be verified and also the officials will checkout for your Annual Income status. After you are verified they will give your respective  such as AAY, BPL, APL etc.
