The  Mumbai city government has made it easier for the populace of Mumbai to apply for their ration cards online itself.

However, you will have to follow a few steps of instructions in order to get yourself a ration card without any hassles.

Make sure you keep your email id and the mobile number working and ready. The authentication based messages or emails might require supervision. You might have to enter the OTPs or One Time Passwords as well if any.

Here are the steps you need to follow to apply:

  • Visit the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act website: https://aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in/en
  • Create a new profile by clicking on the link New User? Register here.
  • Scroll down the Online Services section and click on PDS
  • Click on Demand for New Ration Card
  • Click on Apply and fill out all the details
  • Attach all the supporting proof documents
  • Note down the reference number for future use

Click on the “New User? Register here” site link to proceed ahead with the registration. Fill out the details and register yourself with the main servers of the state government web portal. Oh, you can also change the language to Hindi or Marathi as well, if you want to, at the top right.

  • Fill it out carefully
  • Attach all the necessary proof documents and the Rs. 2 Court Fee stamp
  • Approach the nearest Food and Public Distribution System Office and submit it
  • Note down the Reference Number for future use.

You will have to wait for a period of 2-4 weeks so that your correction process is initiated and completed easily.
